Mind Seize | Commander Precon Deck

A Grixis spells precon led by Jeleva, Nephalia’s Scourge that casts big instants and sorceries from exile for free. It wins by chaining stolen spells into explosive turns and finishing with spell-based haymakers.

Mind Seize Deck Notes

Jeleva, Nephalia’s Scourge leads a Grixis deck that plays the most honest kind of theft: you’re stealing spells, not permanents. When Jeleva enters, she exiles a stack of instants and sorceries from everyone’s libraries, and combat turns those face-down cards into free casts. That means your early turns are about ramp and protection — you want Jeleva to attack at least once, because that first “cast something huge for zero” moment is where the deck really wakes up. It’s big-spells Grixis with a built-in slot machine that somehow always spits out pain. While the commander provides the flashy payoff, the deck backs it up with wheels and punishment effects that keep life totals moving in the right direction. You can win by chaining haymaker spells off Jeleva, by bleeding the table with incremental damage, or by burying everyone under repeated disruption and card advantage. It’s swingy in a fun way — sometimes Jeleva flips the perfect spell, sometimes she flips a shrug — but the deck is built to make almost any free cast matter. If you enjoy chaotic value with a clear “I cast your win conditions better than you do” vibe, Mind Seize is the classic.
